2006 USATF National Club Ekiden (AKA Marathon Relay) Championship
Hosted by the Colorado Colfax Marathon in Denver

Four teams representing the Big Sky Distance Project and the BSDP's sister club (Moving Comfort-Montana) traveled to Denver for the competition.

Trip Theme: “Okay, here’s the deal…

Eleven of the team runners van-pooled to Denver,  intending to stay one night in Douglas, Wyoming on the way down, but they drove on through after the manager of the local "Rat-Hole-Tel" said “Okay, here’s the deal…” when explaining why there were no "non-smoking" rooms available.

Relay runners were required pass a timing chip instead of a baton. The chip had to be scanned on the timing mat at the start, at each exchange zone, and at the finish.

The four Montana teams fared well, raking in a combined $4750 in prize money in the Ekiden competition. Want to see which BSDP member predicted team results worst?
