Camp Waterloo

Hatching BSDP

In August of 2006, the Big Sky Distance Project evolved at a gathering of Montana distance runners on the banks of the Jefferson River in Waterloo. The concept was for a USA Track & Field club that could provide competitive opportunities for open and master’s distance runners from throughout Montana, united behind the idea of competing in team-based local, regional and national competitions.

Selection Criteria: BSDP teams are primarily selected using Montana Cup finish order, with at-large selections allowed under extenuating circumstances.

The club's first event was the USATF Club Ekiden Championship hosted by the Colfax Marathon in Denver on May 21, 2006. A return trip to the Ekiden championships was made in 2007.
